Well, here we go. I’m starting blogging right now! I’m studying Computer Science, and my purpose is talk better about Web Applications, HTML5, CSS 3 and the Internet in General. Everyday I’ve thought about the future of Internet and How we can maximize our brain for understand the wonders which Internet can be bring for us.
How everything starts? Who are the responsible? Am I help for a Good Internet in the future? What is the Internet future? We’ve a lot of doubts…
So, We will starting talking about the Tim Berners-Lee.
Sir Timothy John “Tim” Berners-Lee, OM, KBE, FRS, FREng, FRSA (born 8 June 1955), is a British engineer and computer scientist and MIT professor credited with inventing the World Wide Web, making the first proposal for it in March 1989. On 25 December 1990, with the help of Robert Cailliau and a young student at CERN, he implemented the first successful communication between an HTTP client and server via the Internet.
Sir Berners-Lee join joined three several facts : URI, HTTP, HTML. So, now we have some important things originated of these facts.
In 1994, Berners-Lee founded the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at MIT. It comprised various companies that were willing to create standards and recommendations to improve the quality of the Web. Berners-Lee made his idea available freely, with no patent and no royalties due. The World Wide Web Consortium decided that its standards should be based on royalty-free technology, so that they could easily be adopted by anyone.
What is the World Wide Web Consortium(W3C) ?
In October 1994, Tim Berners-Lee founded the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Laboratory for Computer Science [MIT/LCS] in collaboration with CERN, where the Web originated (see information on the original CERN Server), with support from DARPA and the European Commission.
The W3C mission is to lead the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing protocols and guidelines that ensure the long-term growth of the Web.
And other post I will talk about the Mission and the What the W3C wants to do.
So, now We’ve known a bit about the Internet and how It was made. Therefore We can talk about this Technology better.
